Hotel Caruso, Ravello

A former 11th century palace set on cliffs beside the Amalfi Coast, Hotel Caruso seems to drift on a ‘balcony’ above the Mediterranean Sea.

As with so many Orient-Express hotels it is a triumph of the restorer’s skill. Its ancient walls and fresco-covered ceilings have been carefully preserved to make it a work of art in itself.

Hotel Caruso offers a breathtaking range of possibilities for its guests with 48 very spacious Rooms and Suites. Each has its own unique style, with most having sea views and terraces and many also with private gardens. The furniture reflects Neapolitan style and tradition, and has been exclusively created for Hotel Caruso; some rooms also feature antique 18th and 19th-century pieces.

Hotel Caruso has a range of dining facilities to suit every occasion. Traditional Neapolitan and regional Italian dishes are, of course, our speciality. Special attention is put on the freshness of the food, which is immediately apparent in the mouth-watering selection of mozzarella, local vegetables, fish and meat.

Guests can choose between two restaurants, both affording peerless vistas of the Amalfi Coast: The Belvedere Restaurant on the terrace is perfect for sunny days and warm evenings, and the Caruso Restaurant boasts both a beautiful outdoor terrace and an elegant indoor dining room.

Guests can also spoil themselves at Hotel Caruso's Wellness Centre, where a full range of restorative spa and beauty treatments are available from an impeccably trained staff.

Comfortable and spacious, these rooms are located on the ground floor and benefit from delightful garden views as well as having their own terrace and garden. Perfect for families as they can interconnect if wished, and children can play in the garden. Bathrooms are large and feature separate shower cubicle, bathtub, bidet and double vanity basins.

Double Room Superior
The Double superior rooms offer wonderful views of either the garden or village. Extra-large, luxurious marble bathrooms, with separate shower. Beautifully decorated throughout.

Superior Junior Suite
Elegantly furnished, the Superior Junior Suites offer a beautiful sea view (no balcony). Bathrooms are large and feature separate shower cubicle, bathtub, bidet and double vanity basins.

Deluxe Junior Suite
The Deluxe Junior Suites command breathtaking views of the sea and the coastline from either balconies or terraces, which are equipped with sun-beds, table and chairs. Some suites also feature a private garden. The spacious bathrooms include separate shower cubicle, bathtub, bidet and double vanity basins.

Superior Suite
Spacious and luxurious, these stunning suites offer a true taste of classic Italian style. Bathrooms are large with separate shower cubicle, bathtub, bidet and beautifully furnished double vanity basins. Luxurious toiletries, soft towels and dressing gowns are provided for guests’ supreme comfort.

Suite Deluxe
These are the largest suites of the hotel with separate living areas, breathtaking sea views and magnificent terraces equipped with sun beds, table and chairs.
