Singita Sweni

The Singita Group encapsulates the ultimate African safari with spectacular lodges on 18 000 hectares (45 000 acres) of prime Big Five game viewing land in Singita Private Game Reserve and 15 000 hectares (38 000 acres) in the adjoining world renowned Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. Singita exudes exquisite luxury, rare solitude and perfect tranquility creating an unrivalled guest experience that has made it one of the world’s premier destinations. Celebrated for cutting edge architecture and design that blend into the African landscape, both Singita lodges are proud members of Relais & Chateaux.

Singita Private Game Reserve
Singita Private Game Reserve is an exclusive 18 000 hectare (45 000 acres) private sanctuary adjoining the renowned Kruger National Park. Two magnificent lodges on the bank of the Sand River, Boulders and Ebony, personify unsurpassed luxury, each with their own distinctive character and charm. Castleton Camp, an exclusive bush retreat for families or small groups, exudes the allure and romance of colonial Africa.

Singita Sweni

Sweni Lodge was influenced by the structures of dens, warrens and lairs found in the area. Flanking the Sweni River, this tranquil sanctuary is elevated on stilts with decks of timber. Even when you’re indoors, you’ll have the sensation of being close to the river and trees.

The six secluded suites, with tactile furnishings, have been carefully created to bring in the textures and shades of the bush. Designed with open-plan living in mind, your suite flows from the bathroom area, through to the lounge and into the bedroom – yet if you wish, each area may be sealed off by curtains. Try the outdoor shower overlooking the river or – for a magical experience – ‘camp out’ under the stars on the day bed out on your viewing deck.

Singita’s gourmet game lodge fare compares with the world’s finest cuisine. Exotic venison such as springbok and ostrich are combined with the freshest African flavours and ingredients to craft simple, delicious food with great culinary flair. All Singita lodges offer spectacular bush breakfasts, al fresco meals on outstretched wooden decks, and dining indoors or under the stars in reed enclosed traditional bomas.

At Singita it is acknowledged that the main reason people come to the lodges is to experience the African bushveld and all that it offers. Therefore, particular emphasis is placed on the game drive experience and everything possible is done to ensure that game drives are comfortable, informative, inspirational and memorable.
