Soneva Fushi by Six Senses

Soneva Fushi by Six Senses, the original "Robinson Crusoe" type retreat in the Maldives, is set on the independently owned, unpopulated, tropical paradise island of Kunfunadhoo. The island is 1,400 metres long and almost 400 metres wide and is one of the largest islands in the Maldives. Villas and rooms are randomly dotted along the beach and are hidden away amongst abundant greenery, providing almost complete privacy. Each villa is luxurious and standards are equivalent to those provided by the best international hotels.

However, at the same time as supplying all these modern day facilities, a great deal of care has been taken to make the resort environmentally friendly, and to reflect the idyllic dream of a Robinson Crusoe experience.  Each bathroom opens directly onto a private garden area and in the Crusoe Villas, an exposed staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom.

Dining at Soneva Fushi is varied and imaginative with formal and casual dining experiences available for example, a moonlit beach barbecue, a desert island picnic, a simple yet gourmet lunch in the shade of a canopy of trees or an intimate dinner lit by lanterns on a private beach - the locations are as unforgettable as the food.

Bordered by a private lagoon, surrounded by a coral reef, the Soneva Fushi has its own fully equipped PADI diving school run by its own qualified staff and offering some of the best diving in the world.  The dives are suitable for both beginners and experts alike.
