Before you even touch down at Male International airport you will feel like you holiday has already begun. Gazing out of the window you can’t help but be amazed at the stunning islands and the crystal clear azure sea which the Maldives is renowned for.
Male airport is compact but it prides itself on being friendly and efficient. International flights land on the Huhule Island or “Airport Island” as it is known locally. As the Maldives is made up of over 1000 atolls, holiday makers are whisked away by sea plane or speedboat. What a better way for visitors to begin their luxury holidays in style.
Many of the major airlines travel to the Maldives from the UK. Sri Lankan Airlines and British Airways both operate direct flights from the UK and other airlines such as, Emirates, Singapore and Qatar offer non-direct flights. As this paradise island grows in popularity as a luxury holidays destination, charter flights from the UK, such as Monarch and Thompson, make the Maldives an affordable option.
