More Bookings Online
30.03.2010

With the advent and popularity of the internet it has become apparent that more travellers are booking online for luxury holidays through to weekend breaks.
Could this spell the end for the high street travel agents? A recent survey showed that 63% of respondents book their holidays online, 29% said they would compare travel agency and online prices and only 8% would not trust the internet.
So what has caused this shift? One big draw to booking online means the customer does not have to leave their own home. The ease of shopping for the best bargains from the comfort of your own home is irresistible. No trudging in the rain or trying to find a parking space, booking online makes perfect sense. Consumers, when asked, also felt they get a larger choice on the net and can compare prices to get the best value for money.
The question now is as the majority of households in the UK own a computer could this mean the end of the traditional high street travel agent? Perhaps there is a place for both only time will tell.
