A Floating Hotel in the Clouds

If you are looking for luxury holidays with a difference look no further than the new concept of a “floating hotel in the clouds”. It is being showcased at The Tourism features Conference in Brisbane by its designer Nick Talbot.

This revolutionary airship towers 265 meters high and it is estimated it could transport 100 passengers from London to New York in 37 hours. Nick Talbot said that “It kind of intuitively felt like a shame that the act of travelling seemed to be becoming devalued. It was all about getting there”. He went on to add that “The original working title was Clipper in the Clouds with very romantic notions of the days when people would sail in a clipper from Britain to India or the Far East”.

The “Aircruise” is unique as it will leave no carbon footprint as it is powered by solar power. It will incorporate apartments, viewing decks and glass viewing floors. It is hoped that when the airship passes over places of interest, such as the Pyramids, it will drop to a height of 100 feet allowing passengers to have access to amazing sights. Several tourism operators have shown genuine interest in the project.
