Some of Britain's largest industrial cities are fast becoming luxury holidays hot spots for weekend away in the UK.
Cities such as, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham are proving very popular for tourists looking for an alternative destination to the current favourite cities of London and Edinburgh. Once renowned as being grimy industrial cities their inner city areas have all been rejuvenated and redesigned attracting back residents to live and work in inner city areas, breathing new life into the heart of the city..
Manchester, for example, now boasts world class sporting facilities, a thriving cultural scene with its renowned Lowery centre and the Imperial War Museum. Glasgow has become well known for its architectural designs and café culture. Previously Glasgow has held the title of European Capital for Culture which was later held by Liverpool in 2008.
