The Sandpiper

The Sandpiper epitomizes elegance in a relaxed setting. Much of the hotel's charm and style is attributed to Wayne and Karen Capaldi, who run it with meticulous attention to detail without sacrificing the relaxed manner of the Caribbean. Combined with their staff's enthusiasm for pampering their guests, this results in many appreciative visitors choosing to return year after year.

The rooms at The Sandpiper are beautifully furnished, with some facing their lovely gardens and others facing the ocean. The sound of water gurgling as you walk through the property is very relaxing. You can even take a moment to stop by the pond outside of the restaurant to admire the majestic fish as they glide through the water.

Lush gardens with beautiful flowering plants lead down to a large bay, housing one of Barbados’s widest and finest beaches, complimented by the obligatory crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. A wide range of sports facilities is also available to guests including water sports, tennis, and golf.

The Sandpiper's restaurant, overlooking the pool and gardens, is rated as one of the top dining venues in Barbados. The cuisine leans towards the wholesome and simple Mediterranean / provincial style, with of course, a Caribbean twist. Pre-dinner drinks around the pool each evening provide a convivial atmosphere before the chef serves up his latest creation to the accompaniment of live music.

The Sandpiper has 48 Rooms, One and Two Bedroom Suites and Tree Top Suites which are set in seven acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.

Garden Room
Air-conditioned rooms each consisting of a king size or twin bedded room, private bathroom and patio or balcony. These rooms can accommodate two persons.

One Bedroom Suite
Air-conditioned accommodation consisting of king or twin bedded room, en suite bathroom, separate living room with sofa bed, kitchen and patio or balcony. These suites can accommodate either three adults or two adults and two children under 12 years.

Two Bedroom Suite
Spacious air-conditioned accommodation consisting of two king or twin bedded rooms, two en suite bathrooms, separate living room with sofa bed, kitchen and a large patio or balcony. These suites can accommodate five persons.

Tree Top Suite
The two Tree Top Suites are The Sandpiper´s premier accommodation. They each consist of a bedroom, spacious living room, dressing area and a luxurious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and separate tub. There is a large covered terrace complete with wet bar and complimentary starter bar (selection of spirits and soft drinks). There is also an open sundeck with a plunge pool. These suites both have views of the sea and can accommodate two adults. Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted. One of these suites has a king size four poster bed and the other one can convert from king to twin beds, if required.

The Beach House
The Beach House consists of a spacious bedroom with king size or twin beds with a magnificent view of the sea and an en suite bathroom with separate shower and tub. Two further bedrooms with garden views have a shared bathroom with combination shower and tub and there is a fully fitted kitchen. The spacious living room has expansive views to the sea and leads on to a large wrap around terrace which practically sits on the water´s edge.

The Beach House has the flexibility to be let in different ways. It can be let in its entirety as a 3 bedroom villa or the One Bedroom Suite can be separated from the rest of the villa thereby affording the flexibility to let it as a spacious ocean front One Bedroom Suite suitable for up to two persons.
