Soneva Fushi by Six Senses, the original "Robinson Crusoe" type retreat in the Maldives, is set on the independently owned, unpopulated, tropical paradise island of Kunfunadhoo. The island is 1,400 metres long and almost 400 metres wide and is one of the largest islands in the Maldives. Villas and rooms are randomly dotted along the beach and are hidden away amongst abundant greenery, providing almost complete privacy. Each villa is luxurious and standards are equivalent to those provided by the best international hotels.

However, at the same time as supplying all these modern day facilities, a great deal of care has been taken to make the resort environmentally friendly, and to reflect the idyllic dream of a Robinson Crusoe experience. Each bathroom opens directly onto a private garden area and in the Crusoe Villas, an exposed staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom.

Dining at Soneva Fushi by Six Senses is varied and imaginative with formal and casual dining experiences available for example, a moonlit beach barbecue, a desert island picnic, a simple yet gourmet lunch in the shade of a canopy of trees or an intimate dinner lit by lanterns on a private beach - the locations are as unforgettable as the food.

Bordered by a private lagoon, surrounded by a coral reef, Soneva Fushi by Six Senses has its own fully equipped PADI diving school run by its own qualified staff and offering some of the best diving in the world. The dives are suitable for both beginners and experts alike.

Location
25 minutes sea plane transfer from Male (Capital)

All rooms come with air-conditioning and overhead fan, mini bar, personal safe and hairdryer, television and video, CD, DVD, VCD and Hi Fi Stereo system with speakers in both bedroom and bathroom.

Rehendi Rooms
Beach front room with king-size bed or twin beds. Outdoor, inside, and bathroom daybed, open air private garden, bathroom with separate bathtub and shower and double sink unit with large overhanging mirror. Private outside sitting area with direct access to the beach. Connecting rooms are available.

Crusoe Villas (with or without pool)
Beach front duplex villas with upstairs bedroom with king-size bed or 2 single beds. Downstairs living room with large daybed/sofa and ivory coloured sand-stone tiles, additional toilet upstairs, open air private garden bathroom, free-standing bathtub and two separate showers in garden, dining table and large daybed/sofa for two on the terrace, staircase from garden directly to terrace, private outside sitting area with direct access to the beach.

Crusoe Suites (One Bedroom)
Beach front duplex villa with upstairs bedroom, sunset side. The ground floor has an entrance hall with large walk-in storage cupboard, large sitting room with double doors opening to walled-in private garden. Spacious, luxurious, open air private garden bathroom with water feature, large bathtub and separate shower and double sink unit with large overhanging mirror. The One Bedroom Crusoe Suite has its private sea water swimming pool. Upstairs there is a bedroom that opens to gangway overlooking the sitting room, leading to a terrace overlooking the front of the villa with a sitting area. Services include individual Mr Friday Service / Butler Service, and In-Room Wine Cellar.

Soneva Fushi Villa Suite & Tree House

The Soneva Fushi Villa Suite has its private sea water swimming pool. A walkway leads from the Villa to the Tree House, it is situated 2.5 meters above ground level with 2 bunk bed (2 singles), small toilet with basin and WC and balcony/terrace. Services include individual Mr Friday Service / Butler Service, and In-Room Wine Cellar.

The Retreats
Beach front villas, one on the sunrise side and one on the sunset of the island, The Retreat has two bungalows on two levels. The ground floor of the first bungalow has an entrance hall with large walk-in storage cupboard, large, luxurious, open air private garden bathroom, large bathtub and separate shower and double sink unit with large overhanging mirror and spiral staircase in entrance. Upstairs in the first bungalow has a spacious bedroom with four-poster king-size bed opening onto a balcony and the door from bedroom leads to gangway to adjoining bungalow.

The ground floor of the second bungalow has a large staircase from the study leading down into a hallway to main entrance.On one side of the hallway is a smaller bedroom suitable for a child or the nanny/maid which is equipped with a bed and a separate bathroom, large sitting room comprising a large corner sofa bed with two mattresses. Upstairs in the second bungalow is a large study and large kitchen situated behind the study. A gangway leads from the study over the sitting room and continues suspended over the pool and into the dining pavilion. Large doors from the sitting room lead out into pool. Over the pool between 4 pillars will be the dining pavilion sitting 10-12 people with a gangway leading from the study and kitchen. Consists of a Spa Suite with Steam room, Gym and relaxation area.

Soneva Fushi Jungle Reserve
The Soneva Fushi Jungle Reserve offers the ultimate in privacy complete with a master bedroom, large living space, massage pavilion and steam room, personal gym, private pool and Tree House. The master bedroom has an open watergarden and the villa can be opened on all sides to enjoy the breeze - or air-conditioned. A footbridge connects to the Spa Villa that comprises a sitting room, a steam-room and shower, as well as massage pavilion. A personal air-conditioned gym is located in an adjacent pavilion. The private pool wraps around the villa in a half-moon free-form shape. The Tree House features a bunk bed and a single bed, a toilet and a slide into the swimming pool.
